1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using The Untamed Society ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. The Service is operated by The Untamed Society ("we", "us", or "our").
2. Description of Service
The Untamed Society is an AI-powered homeschool education platform that provides tools including worksheet generation, AI tutoring, lesson planning, curriculum standards browsing, and related educational resources. The Service is designed to support homeschool families with personalized learning experiences.
3. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice.
5. AI-Generated Content
The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate educational content including worksheets, lesson plans, and tutoring responses. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing all generated content before using it with your students. The Service is intended to supplement, not replace, parental oversight and professional educational guidance.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; (c) interfere with or disrupt the Service; (d) share your account credentials with others; (e) use automated tools to scrape or extract content from the Service; or (f) use the Service to generate content that is harmful, misleading, or inappropriate for educational purposes.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by The Untamed Society and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Content you generate using the Service (worksheets, lesson plans, etc.) is yours to use for personal educational purposes. Curriculum standards data is sourced from publicly available state education department resources.
8. Curriculum Product Purchases & License
The Service includes a shop where you may purchase curriculum products including, but not limited to, lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, answer keys, and themed curriculum bundles (collectively, "Curriculum Products"). When you purchase a Curriculum Product, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Curriculum Product solely for the personal, non-commercial educational use of the students in your own household or, where applicable, the students enrolled in your single small homeschool co-op (defined as fewer than 10 students operating in a non-institutional setting). All Curriculum Products remain the sole intellectual property of The Untamed Society.
You expressly agree that you will NOT, under any circumstances:
- Resell, sublicense, rent, lease, lend, or otherwise commercially distribute any Curriculum Product, in whole or in part, in any form, whether modified or unmodified;
- Redistribute, share, repost, mirror, host, or make available any Curriculum Product on any website, file-sharing service, learning platform, cloud drive, social media, marketplace (including but not limited to Teachers Pay Teachers, Etsy, Outschool, eBay, Amazon, or any similar platform), or peer-to-peer network;
- Use any Curriculum Product, in whole or in part, as input, training data, fine-tuning data, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) sources, or any other form of data ingestion for any artificial intelligence, machine learning, large language model, or similar automated system, whether for personal, research, or commercial purposes;
- Permit, authorize, or facilitate any third party (including any AI vendor, scraping service, or data broker) to scrape, harvest, ingest, or otherwise process any Curriculum Product for AI training or model development;
- Remove, obscure, alter, or tamper with any copyright notice, watermark, attribution, branding, or other proprietary marking on any Curriculum Product;
- Create derivative works, adaptations, translations, or compilations of any Curriculum Product for distribution, publication, or sale;
- Use any Curriculum Product to train tutors, instructors, or content creators outside of your own household or qualifying co-op, or in any institutional, classroom, school, or commercial educational setting;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying prompts, generation methodology, or proprietary structure of any Curriculum Product.
Curriculum Products are delivered digitally and are generally non-refundable once accessed or downloaded, except where required by applicable consumer protection law. If a Curriculum Product is materially defective and we cannot promptly remedy the defect, we will issue a refund at our discretion.
We reserve the right to embed visible or invisible identifiers, watermarks, or canary tokens in Curriculum Products to detect and trace unauthorized use. Violation of this Section 8 constitutes a material breach of these Terms and, in addition to any other remedies available at law or in equity, entitles us to immediately revoke your license, terminate your account, recover statutory damages and our legal costs, and pursue any other available remedy including injunctive relief.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any data associated with your account may be deleted after a reasonable retention period.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
